I hope everyone had a safe and splendid Thanksgiving and a safe black Friday if you all went shopping! I am no fan of crowds so staying home today was a blessing. Yesterday was Benji's second Thanksgiving and my little man looked absolutely handsome! I was sad looking at his last year's Thanksgiving picture because he was so small! Despite the fact that his daddy had to work on Thanksgiving, we had a wonderful time being fatties and spending time with the family.
About 24 hours and pounds later, I realized that today I'd be staying home instead of going out into the crowds of monstrous black Friday deals, and went over my top favorite things from this week! Even though Benji is sick with a bad case of the sniffles, I didn't want him to stay in pajamas all day. Of course that doesn't mean I was going to put him in a suite or anything! You know how it goes here; Comfy yet stylish! Everything he is wearing* was bought at Target!
Can we just thank Target for having amazing baby clothes? My baby is definitely a Target baby. *Denim jacket was thrifted Yesterday the cold front was rolling into Texas, and the weather was perfect sweater weather. I had no idea how cold it was going to be and originally, Benji was just going to wear his leggings and denim shirt. But when his daddy said it was much too cold for just that, I had no idea how stylish and cute he would look with his fox hat and sweat shirt! •Hat-home made; but there's similar ones at Target now in the baby department!) •Sweater - Baby Gap (gift) •LEGGINGS-H&M baby department •Moccasins - Old Navy baby department (no longer available ) This has got to be one of my favorite outfits. He looks like a little baby model, and on top of that, he wasn't just stylish, but warm, cozy and comfortable!
Yesterday my beloved Benji turned 14 months! It's hard to believe that last year he had barely turned 2 months and was about to celebrate his first Halloween! I also realized that even last year he wore a cute little ghost shirt too; thinking about making this a little tradition from now on, hehe. I decided to order Benji's outfit (both shirt and leggings) from the etsy shop VanillaBeanBaby, which I had previously mentioned one one of my blog posts. He looked down right cute and was totally feeling the season! I can't wait for the upcoming Holidays so I can dress my son in cheesy yet stylish and cute clothing!
•Moccs from Old Navy (not sure if they still sell them) It has been pretty rainy these past 2 days, especially today. It was raining cats and dogs this morning so I figured that it would most probably be very hot later on in the day. To my surprise, it was actually pretty chilly! I got excited because I had the perfect outfit planned out for my little night owl. •Owl sweater - Birthday gift (Monsoon) •Gray chevron pants - Target (baby girl department) •Shoes - Baby Gap •Triangle Bib scarf - H&M I am completely in love with his outfit today! I was bumbed because I had an owl sweater similar to his and I have no idea were it was; we could had matched again!
Later on after some Target shopping, we stopped at a local restaurant for some Po Boys, Egg rolls, and fried rice with his grandma. Today was a good day! Apparently there was going to be a cold front coming through, I got so excited and thought that it would really feel like fall so I decided to put some cute leggings, moccasins and a long sleave shirt on Benji. But of course being Houston, the weather was still mucky, even if the temperature was a couple degrees lower; Houston will always be humid! I figured he'd be fine since it wasn't too hot and we were going to run a quick errand at -you guessed it- Target to find more Halloween stuff. •Long Sleeve Raccoon shirt- Monsoon •Leggings- Girl department at Target •Moccasins - Old Navy Most of Benjamin's outfits consist of leggings and skinny jeans, if it's too hot it's either rompers or short shorts, he occasionally wears cargos but leggings are definitely his signature mark! I think leggings are very fashionable amongst both baby girl and boys because not only are they comfortable for their active bodies, but they come in various prints too! I suggest checking out Two Little Kings at Etsy, they are very affordable and come in cute patterns! Zara also has cute leggings in their baby department, go check them out!
It's amazing what one accessory can do to an outfit! Today I decided to put on Benji some new clothes that he had gotten for his birthday to look cute while we ran some errands. As I was headed out the door, his dad came to give him a kiss and he put on his little fedora that has been hanging out -literally- by the door since our last trip to the beach. I know his dad just wanted to bother Benjamin by putting on the hat but wow did it make him look cuter! I usually don't put hats on him because he always takes them off, this time he kept it on! We stopped by Tj Maxx and at the check out line a lady in the other register said he looked "right on" and that "it's picture time".We then stopped at the dollar tree to buy some inexpensive Fall/Halloween decor (which I'll do another blog about later) and once again at the check out, the lady said he looked too cute with his hat and that he looked like a little man! I admit, my little man did look adorable, and since I haven't done an outfit of the day post in what seems like a year, I decided to do one today. Excuse that he has the paci in his mouth, he was being a little grump today and that was the only thing that kept him calm! •Fedora - Target in the baby boy department
•Flannel - Birthday Gift (Cherokee) •Skinny Jeans - Target in baby girl department (yes...Girl) •Shoes - Vans The other day I was doing some online shopping, little did I know I had already gone over my budget so that meant no shopping, oops. I usually do my online shopping on Baby Gap or Old Navy because they have the absolute cutest clothes and shoes for babies and toddlers! I am just in love how they look like mini versions of adult clothes! Don't get me wrong, I love me a cute fox layette outfit that shouts "Baby" when you see it, but I guess I'm more of a mama that likes their baby to have better style and fashion than them! Anyways, I had recently bumped into a website I sadly-and don't know why-never heard about. Zara. I instantly fell in love with their baby section! Why is it that I don't have the money when I find the cutest things! Even though some of their clothes is a little bit pricey, I don't blame them because the outfits are to die for! I decided to make a little wishlist for Benji so that over time, I can slowly but surely by him these things for him! I love that the clothes have very neutral colors and don't necessarily fall into that "blue is for boys and pink is for girls" category. I had instantly fallen in love with the first pair of pants with the belt, I mean, how cute is that? Even though Zara has some lookbooks, I'm thinking about doing some myself! All of these items can be found at http://www.zara.com under the "Kids" category under Boys. Happy shopping!
